Job Description

PMHNP-BC or Social worker to work one day a week at our two Rural Health Clinics Women’s Medical & Surgical Clinic 805 Cherry St, Mamou, LA 70554 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients either physically present at our office location or via telehealth, as long as telehealth is available. We have two rural health clinics, one each in Evangeline (Mamou) and Allen (Oakdale) Parish. At present, we require your services one day a week at both locations. The clinics are NOT open on Fridays. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health disorders while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments for patients. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs. Provide psychotherapy and medication management to patients with mental health conditions. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in hospice palliative medicine and pain management scenarios. Participate in clinical research initiatives to advance mental health practices. Engage in utilization review processes to ensure appropriate care delivery. Administer IV infusions as required for specific treatment protocols. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations. Stay updated on best practices in medical imaging relevant to psychiatric assessments. Requirements Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Current certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Experience in memory care, assisted living, or related fields is preferred. Strong knowledge of hospice palliative medicine and pain management techniques. Familiarity with working in a Level I Trauma Center is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and families. Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment. Commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical research participation.
