$30K – $36.2K a year 21 hours ago Qualifications Childcare CPR Certification Program management Program development Mid-level First Aid Certification Leadership Full Job Description St. Martin’s Episcopal School in Metairie is currently seeking a part-time Afterschool Care Coordinator who will be responsible for managing the After Care Program, supporting the early childhood, elementary, and middle schools. This position will also be responsible for staff and faculty childcare as needed throughout the school year. Applicants should be available from 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. Qualifications Demonstrated leadership experience in an academic setting At least 2 years of experience in student activities or student service program management is preferred Experience in program development Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills Excellent knowledge of child development Understanding of the academic, social, and emotional needs of preschool students Physical vigor to stay engaged with children in a multitude of ways, to provide a healthy and safe environment, and to react in the moment to each individual situation and its needs Must obtain First Aid CPR certification upon hire Responsibilities Manage and operate all aspects of after-school care Hire personnel as needed for each division Supervise the safety and care of all children in a positive environment Supervise aftercare staff Maintain a constant count of all children in aftercare Provide activities or games (especially on rainy days when aftercare is inside) Provide programming for homework assistance, educational activities, physical activities, and more Maintain child-to-staff ratios Comply with state licensing guidelines for early childhood Communicate with parents or guardians about schedules, after-school class offerings, and injuries/incidents Coordinate and find substitute staff when needed To apply, please upload a resume and complete the application for this job posting.
