The New Orleans Youth Assessment Center (NOYAC) will provide a community based single point of entry to Deter and Divert at risk youth from the Juvenile Justice System. In partnership with community stakeholders, the center will provide screening, assessment and case managment in order to provide youth and families with a continuum of appropriate care. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Liaison to serve as a vital link between families, children, and various service providers for the Pilot of the newly created (NOYAC). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child welfare and case management, with the ability to navigate complex situations involving children and families. This role requires excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of behavioral health and social services in the Greater New Orleans Area, and the ability to advocate effectively for the needs of children and families. Responsibilities Facilitate communication between families and service providers to ensure that children’s needs are met effectively. Make referrals to appropriate community-based services, including mental health, substance abuse treatment, educational support, and family services. Monitor client progress through regular contact with youth, families, and service providers. Collaborate with social workers, and other relevant stakehold to develop comprehensive care plans. Conduct outreach to families to educate them about available resources and services. Participate in training and professional development relevant to youth services and case management. Attend court hearings and provide case updates, as needed. Provide support during intake processing. Manage conflicts that may arise during interactions with families or service providers, ensuring a resolution that prioritizes the welfare of the child. Maintain accurate documentation of interactions and progress notes in compliance with confidentiality standards. Transport youth as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field is preferred, not required. 3 years of experience working with at youth children and families in various settings is required. Strong knowledge of conflict resolution strategies and Motivational Interviewing is preferred Familiarity with behavioral health issues affecting children and families. Understanding of child protective services processes and family law regulations. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with diverse populations. Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team. Clean Driving Record Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation practices.
