Videos Duties Social Work :

Major duties for the position include (but are not limited to): Assisting the Social Work Chief in defining the mission and vision of Social Work Service, developing the scope of practice for all social workers, designing a Social Work Service Plan of Care, and assuring implemention of quality improvement measures; Developing procedures for, and ensures the implemention and achievement of the provision of social work services to medical facility pients on inpient and outpient programs; Making selections for supervisory and non-supervisory positions, hear group grievances and serious employee complaints, review serious disciplinary cases (i.e., those proposing suspensions and removals), and disciplinary problems involving key employees; Serving as the Program Manager for the Social Work Homeless Veteran’s Program which includes Healthcare for Homeless Veterans, (HCHV) contract and outreach, Grant & Per Diem program (GPD), Housing Urban Development-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH), housing program, Community Referral and Resource Center, (CRRC), Veterans Justice Outreach (VJO) and Homeless Pient Aligned Care Teams (H-PACT) programs. Supervising all aspects and functions of the homeless programs, plans, directs, and coordines the clinical and administrive aspects of a multi-facet comprehensive case management program; Providing clinical and administrive supervision to a large multidisciplinary staff, which includes facilition of trement staffing meetings, oversight of peer review and quality assurance procedures, as well as management of budgetary and salary resource allocions; Working with Human Resources and the Resource Management Board providing necessary documents and informion regarding staff vacancies and hiring needs of the Homeless Program; Consulting with and serves as a resource for other professional staff concerning the need for and development of Social Work services; Serving on Medical Center, VISN and Nional VA committees and task forces; Representing the Medical Center professional community groups/events and committees, in conferences and meetings with higher ranking managers, supervisors and staff from other work units.
