About the Role As theDirector of Family & Community Engagement, you will oversee andcoordinate programs that provide vital resources, supervision, andguidance to families and educators. You’ll play a leadership rolein strengthening family engagement initiatives, ensuring staff andfamilies have access to high-quality mental health and socialservice support. This position fosters strong communityrelationships, supervises key personnel, and implements bestpractices that create lasting impact. Key Responsibilities ProgramLeadership & Development Lead the development and implementation offamily and educator support programs in alignment with the YMCA’smission and community needs. Establish and maintain strongcommunity partnerships with organizations such as MSPCC, ARC, DMH,DPH, DCF, and other agencies to provide holistic support services.

Oversee processes for identifying family needs, developingIndividualized Family Plans, and coordinating family meetings withSupportive Case Managers. Supervision & Staff Support Supervise andprovide clinical guidance to Supportive Case Managers and FamilyEngagement Specialists. Support YMCA staff in buildingstrength-based relationships with families and accessing resources.

Community & Family Engagement Develop affiliations with mentalhealth clinics and social service agencies to provide onsite,virtual, and home-based therapeutic support. Collaborate with localhomeless shelters, EOHLC, DTA, and DCF to provide comprehensivefamily support services. Coordinate home visits, peer supportgroups, and parent/caregiver workshops through communitypartnerships. Compliance & Training Ensure compliance with programregulations and industry best practices in family engagement andsupport. Work with the education department to ensure staffunderstand social-emotional development and trauma-informed care.

Resource Development & Advocacy Advocate for family needs bysecuring funding opportunities and developing key supportresources. Strengthen inclusivity and cultural competency withinYMCA programs. QualificationsMaster’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or arelated field (LICSW, LMHC, or equivalent preferred). Minimum of 5years of experience in family support services, social work, ormental health counseling. Experience in clinical supervision,program development, and community resource coordination. Strongleadership, interpersonal, and crisis management skills. Fluency inSpanish is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication withthe ability to relate effectively to and advocate for diversegroups of people from all social and economic backgrounds.
