seeks an Hub School Network Manager Role of the Hub School Network Manager The Hub School Network Manager plays a critical role in the Surround Care Coalition plan through family and community engagement, planning and coordinating events, and sourcing SCC partner and community resources among the network. This position reports to the Director of Programs & Operations. About the Surround Care Coalition (SCC): Higher Ground, in partnership with 20 organizations, founded the Surround Care Coalition to improve children’s health equity and educational outcomes in collaboration with Higginson Elementary, Higginson- Lewis K-8 School, David Ellis Elementary, and Crispus Attucks Children’s Center. Higher Ground serves as the backbone organization and leads fundraising and financial reporting for the initiative. The Hub School Network Manager plays a critical role in the Surround Care Coalition plan through family and community engagement, planning and coordinating events, and sourcing SCC partner and community resources among the network. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This role is responsible for the implementation of the Surround Care Coalition’s plan for increased parent and family participation and meaningful engagement of the coalition and its partners. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Program Management:
- Implementation of the Surround Care Coalition’s multi-year work plan for integrated support for students, their families and the schools the children attend:
- Lead the development and implementation of the plan at each school. The plan includes measurable objectives, as well as procedures for delivering school-wide services, targeted and sustained services, monitoring and adjusting services, and evaluating and reporting effectiveness.
- Work closely with school leadership, staff, and Surround Care Coalition member organizations to coordinate the delivery of services outlined in individual agreements with members.
- Work closely with Higher Ground’s Education staff to coordinate administrative logistics and the delivery of our NextGen Explorers out of school time (OST) programs including but not limited to After School Programming and 5th Quarter Summer Learning Programming.
- Manage communication and work plan outcomes and deliverables for Surround Care Coalition partners. Parent Engagement
- Participate in a leadership role on Higher Ground’s Family Engagement Committee.
- Co- plan, co-facilitate and execute family engagement activities and events.
- Mobilize parents to participate in school site council and parent council meetings.
- Expansion of the Surround Care Coalition’s plan for Parent Teacher Advisory Group (PTAG) membership where students and families, school leadership, teachers, and the community are partners in decision making and promoting change
- Coordinate and facilitate monthly PTAG meetings. Community Engagement
- Support in identifying and developing strategic coalition partnerships that can provide access to opportunities and experiences for students and families in our partner schools.
- Seek out and participate in community events as an SCC representative promoting visibility of the coalition.
- Conduct outreach, engage, and recruit new SCC families at activities and events. Reporting and Evaluation
- Track, maintain and capture accurate attendance and demographic PTAG data.
- Review monthly partner reports and quarterly budget reports to ensure alignment with partner scopes of service and work plans.
- Manage the database of SCC families including but not limited to: consent forms, demographic data and referral management.
- Work closely with the Coalition’s Evaluation Team and the Moakley Center for Public Management at Suffolk University in implementing a systematic data collection plan to evaluate the effectiveness of services in achieving school-wide goals and addressing the needs of individual students and their families.
- Prepare bi-annual reports to share with school partners, coalition partners, funders and other stakeholders. Fiscal Management
- Develop budgets, fundraising, and resource developments in support of Surround Care Coalition programming provided to partner schools. Qualifications The Hub School Network Manager must possess the knowledge, skills and personal attributes needed to support the critical features of positive community engagement including but not limited to the following:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or demonstrated relevant equivalent experience in education, social work, or related field.
- Minimum two (2) years experience working in an urban setting with diverse populations with proven effective and culturally responsive experience serving the Black/African, Latinx, Asian diaspora, and immigrant communities.
- Minimum (2) years experience working in a public school system, preferably Boston Public Schools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience and proficiency with Zoom or similar virtual meeting software
- Experience developing positive relationships with parents, partners, community members, and stakeholders.
- Respect and honor cultural and human diversity.
- Works well as part of a collaborative team and independently.
- Ability to write and edit reports, correspondence, and presentations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize duties and responsibilities
- Meeting facilitation and public speaking skills needed.
- Ability to interpret and analyze data and database management.
- Proven knowledge about Boston, its communities, and its resources.
- Experience in community organizing.
- Ability to take initiative, and work in teams and independently without consistent direct supervision.
- Advanced skills with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Suite.
- A valid driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation.
- Available to work a flexible schedule that includes some evenings and weekends (This is a full-time 12-month position.
)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidates with a background in community organizing, social work, positive youth development, and/or education are encouraged to apply.
- Familiar with database systems used to organize student data such as Salesforce, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data and information, summarize and present findings to decision-makers, and make accessible for public consumption.
- Strong marketing, design and communication skills.
- Strong preference for linguistic diversity and interest in candidates who are fluent in one of the following languages: Español (Spanish), Kriolu (Cape Verdean Creole), and/or Kreyòl (Haitian Creole).
Work Environment This is a hybrid role (remote and in-person), but with a great deal of time spent at local community events and partner Hub schools. CORI and SORI check required.
COMPENSATION
$65,000 – $75,000 gross including benefits (health, dental, short, and long-term disability).
