Adjunct Faculty within the College of Professional Studies (CPS) are critical to the success of UNE’s online programs. The role of the faculty in CPS is to facilitate the learning process for online students through timely and effective mentorship, tutoring, instruction and communication. The adjunct faculty- Advanced Content Student Support, facilitates the retention of students through a variety of modalities in specific content area(s) including but not limited to: acting as in-course support for primary faculty, working with students on content area tutoring and remediation in the area(s) of the faculty’s expertise, assisting with career readiness initiatives, professional coaching, and supporting learners at a variety of levels, allowing for students to derive the maximum benefits from the program in which they are enrolled. The adjunct faculty- Advanced Content Student Support will receive supervision, collaboration, and guidance from the program area(s) to which they are assigned. About the University of New England

Responsibilities
Faculty are responsible for:
Providing expert and graduate level knowledge in one or more of the following content areas:
Nutrition, Social Work, Education, graduate/doctoral level Research Methods, Statistics and Biostatistics, and/or writing
Guiding students through their educational experience while upholding and adhering to the CPS commitment to student success
Collaborating with programs, faculty and staff to support students that are struggling to meet academic benchmarks
Providing guidance and resources to help remediate students in specific areas of practice
Facilitating content specific offerings to complement didactic course work
Providing timely response to student inquiries, within 24 hours
Demonstrate excellent collaborative and communication skills
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has experience teaching online in an educational setting, has demonstrated expertise in working with adult learners, and has a passion for teaching Nutrition science
Master’s degree in Nutrition, Education, Statistical Reasoning, Writing or related field(s)
Terminal degree in Nutrition Education, Statistical Reasoning, Writing or related field(s)
A minimum of three years teaching experience in Nutrition, Writing, Research Methods, Statistics or a combination of the above
A desire to motivate and encourage students in academic and professional settings
Expertise teaching online and the desire to learn and apply new technological approaches to education
Experience using the Brightspace/D2L Learning Management system
