The Kittery School District is currently seeking qualified educational technicians to support our Extended School Year (ESY) special education summer program taking place Monday-Thursday July 7, 2025 to August 7, 2025.Mitchell School (serving students PreK to entering grade 3) is currently seeking to fill 4 ed-tech positions for the 2025 ESY program.

Main Job Tasks and ResponsibilitiesMaintain confidentiality of all student, family and employee related informationMeet regularly with program supervisor to share information and discuss student progressReview and reinforce previous learning to maintain skills and progress with IEP goalsAssist in the preparation of classroom materials and class management functionsExhibit positive language and behavior skills as a model for children and familiesProvide input to completion and maintenance of individual observational child assessmentPerform any other appropriate duties the Special Education Director/Supervisor deems necessaryMinimum QualificationsObtain and maintain authorization as an Ed Tech per Chapter 115 of the Maine Department of EducationDocument at least two years of postsecondary education or a combination equivalent to 60 hours of approved study in an educationally related fieldSuccessful background, criminal records, fingerprinting and reference checkRequired Knowledge, Abilities and SkillsWorking knowledge of child development, disabilities, family systems and special education methodsExhibit a positive professionalism with supervisors, co-workers, students, parents and communityProvide individual and group services in a variety of settings and modelsEstablish an effective rapport/relationship with children and parentsWork collaboratively as a member of an early childhood teamEffectively communicate – orally and in writingMaintain composure in stressful situationsDemonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and ability to take initiativePhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
