$30.4K – $35K a year 1 day ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Experience with children Communication skills Entry level Full Job Description Job Summary St. Margaret of Scotland, a vibrant and diverse Catholic school community within the Archdiocese of St. Louis, is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Extended Care Aide. This individual will support the school’s aftercare program by providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment for students beyond regular school hours. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with school staff, demonstrate a love for children, and uphold the mission and values of Catholic education. Job Responsibilities Supervise students in the aftercare program, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Assist with homework help, indoor and outdoor play, snack time, and other enrichment activities. Maintain a structured and positive environment that supports student engagement and respect. Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school administration regarding student behavior and any concerns. Follow and enforce school policies, including safety and emergency procedures. Set up and clean up materials and spaces used during the aftercare program. Report any incidents or injuries to the Extended Care Coordinator or school administration promptly. Attend occasional staff meetings or training sessions related to the extended care program. Job Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in education or child development is preferred. Experience working with children in an educational or care setting is strongly preferred. Ability to maintain a positive and supportive attitude with children, parents, and staff. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Must pass a background check and complete all Archdiocese of St. Louis Safe Environment requirements.
