Job Description
School Readiness Coordinator
Based on 217 days
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood education, child and family development, elementary education, vocational home economics or related field. Experience working with families, child care providers and community partners preferred.
Performance Responsibilities:
coordinate the Petal Excel By 5 early childhood community re-certification process;
coordinate the implementation of the Petal Excel By 5 continuation plan-of-action;
work directly with and make scheduled reports to the Petal Excel By 5 steering committee and coalition;
work directly with child care/Head Start programs to support quality in pre-k programs;
work with the Petal Primary administration to plan and coordinate transition activities for kindergarten students;
work with the director of the Center for Families and Children and Petal Primary administrators in coordinating kindergarten readiness assessments;
participate in national, state and area peer leaning groups focused on early childhood;
participate in performance assessments and goal setting on an on-going basis Salary to be determined depending on degree and years of experience. After review of applications, based on qualifications, selected candidates will be contacted for interview.
