About the Position This job opportunity is for the position of Public Safety Support Team Lead, serving as the Human Trafficking Coordinator within the Bureau of Investigation Division located in

HINDS COUNTY.

The Human Trafficking Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the agency’s Bureau of Investigations. The duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: leading community efforts to enhance the prevention, identification, and response to suspected and identified victims of human trafficking. This includes the development and facilitation of multidisciplinary response guidelines, as well as the creation of a community case review forum for enhanced investigation and service coordination. The Coordinator is responsible for the collection and reporting of relevant data relating to human trafficking victims identified in the State of Mississippi. The Human Trafficking Coordinator will assist the community in the identification of existing programs and services as well as those required to address the unmet needs of suspected and known human trafficking victims. Provide prevention and awareness while utilizing resources that benefit peer support services, such as Stopping Sexual Exploitation, Real Talk, and Family Huddle. 2. Raise awareness and provide intensive groups to individuals with a history of sex purchasing•this includes networking with local law enforcement, the attorney’s office, as well as other partners and stakeholders in the community, building partnerships, and conducting outreach to recruit potential participants, co-facilitators, and outside resources for buyers, among other efforts. 3. Collaborating and maintaining an ongoing peer support network. 4. Coordination and facilitation of the Stopping Sexual Exploitation accountability program. 5. Providing support to the victims identified before, during, and after groups have been completed. 6. Identifying Human Trafficking victims and referring them to the necessary services for assistance. 7. Coordination and/or facilitation of the agency’s Human Trafficking Division; providing support to caregivers and family members of those who have experienced the trauma of Human Trafficking. 8. Coordination and/or facilitation of Real-Talk with diverse populations•juvenile detention centers, correctional facilities, rehab facilities. 9. Provide innovative ideas of thinking long-term for developing and expanding programs 10. Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field 11. Assist the Prevention Manager with special projects on an as-needed basis 12. Provide system and direct service advocacy for survivors of sex trafficking.
