Position Overview:
As a School Social Worker, you will play a key role in supporting students’ emotional, social, and behavioral development. You will collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to implement strategies that remove barriers to learning and help students thrive in the classroom and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct counseling and intervention services to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and develop intervention strategies Collaborate with educators, school counselors, and psychologists to support students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies to coordinate access to social services and mental health resources Develop and implement programs focused on mental health awareness, positive behavior supports, and trauma-informed practices Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
Required Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution Valid state licensure or certification as a School Social Worker (or ability to obtain) Knowledge of special education processes, IEP development, and school-based interventions Strong communication, collaboration, and case management skills Prior experience working in a K-12 school setting preferred; open to new graduates with relevant training and internships Benefits of Working with
