POSITION SUMMARY:
A Recreation and Sports Leader is a dedicated and energetic servant who actively supports the PEARSON Foundation’s mission by facilitating engaging, structured, and developmentally enriching recreation and sports activities for students and their families. This role is vital in fostering physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and mental well-being through indoor and outdoor games, exercises, and organized sports. ________________________________________

Understanding Program & Commitment to Service 1. Program Familiarity
- Read and understand the Staff/Volunteer Handbook and Parent/Student Handbook to align with the foundation’s mission, policies, and expectations. 2. Active Participation & Leadership
- Be physically engaged in all recreation and sports activities, ensuring students receive encouragement, motivation, and structured guidance. 3. Timely Attendance & Reliability
- Arrive on time, sign in promptly, commit to the full schedule faithfully, and sign out upon completion. 4. Advanced Planning & Organization
- Prepare well-structured, engaging activities that maximize participation, learning, and enjoyment while ensuring safe execution. 5. Equipment Management
- Properly check out, maintain, and return all sports and recreation equipment to uphold accountability and readiness for all activities.

6. Organize Team Sports & Games
- Lead structured games such as soccer, basketball, flag football, volleyball, track activities, and more, fostering teamwork, strategy, and healthy competition. 7. Coordinate Individual Sports & Skill Challenges
- Provide opportunities for students to develop personal athletic abilities through activities like running, jump rope challenges, fitness circuits, frisbee, and kickball. 8. Teach Outdoor Adventure & Wellness Practices
- Encourage nature-based activities like hiking, obstacle courses, relay races, strength training, and basic survival skills, reinforcing resilience and endurance. 9. Facilitate Movement & Agility Drills
- Help students improve balance, coordination, and flexibility with fun drills that develop overall fitness levels. 10. Promote Safe Sportsmanship & Encouragement
- Reinforce respect, cooperation, and perseverance, ensuring a positive and uplifting environment.

11. Host Structured Indoor Games & Activities
- Lead games such as table tennis, chess, checkers, board games, puzzles, trivia challenges, and brain-stimulating exercises that build critical thinking and strategy. 12. Facilitate Low-Impact Fitness & Wellness Exercises
- Guide students through yoga, stretching routines, mindfulness activities, and basic body-weight exercises to enhance flexibility and focus. 13. Coordinate Group Dance & Aerobic Sessions
- Organize fun movement activities such as dance, rhythm-based workouts, and group aerobics to build confidence and enthusiasm. 14. Lead Physical & Mental Relaxation Techniques
- Introduce students to deep breathing exercises, guided meditation, scripture-based reflections, and relaxation strategies to support mental well-being. 15. Encourage Small Group Strategy Games
- Provide spaces for engaging in card games, storytelling activities, and other social bonding opportunities that foster cognitive and personal development.
