Child Welfare Specialist DevCare Solutions Pvt., Ltd. 302 Amber Place, Durham, NC 27701 Overview The Child Welfare Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children within the community. This position involves working closely with families, children, and various stakeholders to assess needs, provide support, and implement effective interventions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of child protective services, family law, and crisis management, along with a compassionate approach to working with children and families facing challenging circumstances. Responsibilities Conduct assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Develop and implement service plans that promote the safety and welfare of children. Collaborate with social workers, law enforcement, and other agencies to coordinate services. Provide crisis intervention and support to families in distress. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage families in the process. Maintain accurate documentation of casework activities and progress. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in child welfare practices. Advocate for the rights and needs of children within the child welfare system. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is preferred. Experience working with children or families in crisis situations is highly desirable. Knowledge of child protective services, family law, and crisis management principles. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations effectively. Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques is an asset. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities is essential.
