Extended Day Coordinator (Part-Time) 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars 4809 Friends School Road, Durham, NC 27705 Extended Day Coordinator (Part-Time) The Opportunity Carolina Friends School is seeking a part-time Extended Day Coordinator to start in August for the 2025-2026 school year. The Coordinator will ensure the implementation of a quality Extended Day program grounded in the school’s mission and philosophy. Responsibilities will include maintaining a safe and supportive environment, creating and upholding a schedule to provide students with structural support, and being fully present and ensuring the supervision of students in the first through eighth grade age levels from 2:55 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.
Compensation:
18-20/hr Daily expectations include: Promote and maintain a safe and healthy environment aligned with the mission and philosophy of the School Maintain accurate and organized records such as attendance, billing sheets, incident reports, shopping lists, and other necessary paperwork Coordinate with Extended Day staff to ensure proper supervision of all students; observe, monitor, and help students organize indoor and outdoor activities Assist students with homework and other after-school needs Engage with the children in positive, nurturing ways Help prepare and provide snacks each day Maintain a clean environment Ensure Lower and Middle School expectations are maintained and followed during Extended Day Communicate with parents of Extended Day students as needed Engage and coordinate with Lower and Middle School staff, music instructors, and tutors as needed Lead regular meetings with the after-hours staff Perform other duties as assigned or needed Strong candidates will have and/or demonstrate: Delight in actively engaging and supervising with elementary and middle school-aged students Experience as a supervisor in a childcare setting and the ability to manage a team of staff Success in creating and maintaining safe, appropriate, and engaging programs for this age Strong understanding of child development Ability to foster positive relationships with and among students and parents Demonstrate an understanding of and strong affinity for Quaker philosophy and the School’s mission strong communication skills ability and interest in collaborative work with colleagues A willingness to understand how power and inequality, influenced by factors such as race, class, gender, sexuality, and learning and physical differences, impact our students, families, and colleagues ability to meet varied demands with integrity, enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, and a sense of humor How to
