Services For Adults (SFA) is a part of the Adult Services Division of the Mecklenburg County Department of Child, Family, and Adult Services. The division is responsible for four main program areas: Adult Social Work Services, Community Social Work, the Senior Citizens Nutrition Program, and the Mecklenburg Transportation System (MTS). Position Specific Information This position has direct responsibility for and supervision of a team of Social Workers within the Community Social Work unit in the Services For Adults (SFA) division. The Community Social Work program provides social work and case management assistance for adults, seniors, and disabled citizens who fall outside of protective services. The CSW Supervisor will work closely with supervisors in other areas of SFA, including APS (Adult Protective Services), Senior Nutrition, and Just One Call. Whereas the supervisor will not carry a caseload, s/he may make home visits to support team members. Office location for this position is the Valerie C. Woodard Center (Chapin Hall), 3205 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. Position Summary Provides direct supervision, training, support, review and evaluation of professional technical and para-professional staff involved in areas which could include Social Services or Public Health. This position compiles reports and data to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures as well as assignment and monitoring of cases. This position provides feedback to staff to enhance their capabilities to perform efficiently. Essential Functions Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of staff Consult with teams and staff on individual case assignments Develop procedures to meet department or program goals, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines. Reviews information with teams or staff members to provide guidance and direction in the delivery of services Establish performance objectives, conducts periodic reviews and monitors progress Monitor budget activities and adjusts expenditures and makes recommendations as appropriate Review and audits staff cases and workloads to prioritize duties and referrals for new cases Complete monthly and quarterly program reports Provide consultation to staff in complex case situations, acute emergencies, or cases which require a high-level decision Communicate with and visit other public and private welfare agencies, hospitals and other institutions in order to exchange information and develop resources Seek additional sources to increase funding and expand services Review and analyze activity reports and statistics for continuous awareness of program operation May be required to staff shelters in the event of a disaster
Minimum Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of five years of social services or human services experience
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Health or related field Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted?

Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver’s License Requires County Driving Privileges Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Social Work preferred. Previous experience making in-home and in-community visits.
