Summer Camp Counselor Position Available In Mecklenburg, North Carolina

Summer Camp Counselor Hope for Harvest Youth Center 1800 Brewton Drive, Charlotte, NC 28206 POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a motivated and passionate Summer Camp Counselor to join our team and assist with our mission. This role involves planning and facilitating group activities, and ensuring a safe, positive experience for all participants. Ideal candidates will have previous experience working with youth, especially underserved communities.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Preferred Associates or Bachelors degree and or minimum of 2 years of experience in camp administration, youth programming, or a similar role. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse staff, campers, families, and stakeholders. Knowledge of child development principles, youth engagement strategies, and best practices in camp management. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record Pass a background check

Skills and Expertise:

Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds Desire to work in a rapidly changing environment Experience working with at-risk or underserved youth, demonstrating the ability to engage and support individuals facing unique challenges.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM are general business hours While performing the duties of the job, the employee will work in office, camp, and warehouse environments, and is required to work predominantly sitting, standing, walking, bending, carrying, and lifting. The employee will be required to work outside and inside, work around youth, and in community environments. Local travel is required.
