Social Worker IAT Person County North Carolina 304 South Morgan Street, Roxboro, NC 27573 “Everything is Better in Person” Summary Objective Person County Government is actively seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker IAT to join the In-Home and Permanency Planning Unit within the Department of Social Services. This critical position plays a pivotal role in the long-term safety, stability, and well-being of children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or dependency. The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to both the candidate’s educational background and relevant work experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy. This is an exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually. Essential Functions In-Home Services are planning, directing and monitoring the provision of a full range of social, health and in home services to an individual or a family. Activities include determining initial and on-going eligibility for appropriate services that may be provided by a variety of agencies; developing and implementing appropriate family specific case plan; and establishing ways and means to alleviate the family’s needs. Permanency Planning Services are those services through which plans for substitute care for abused, neglected and dependent children are evaluated, arranged, maintained, and supervised either in the homes of approved relatives or in licensed or approved homes or facilities when the children’s parents are unable to care for them adequately or to provide a suitable environment. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work experience; or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; or Master’s degree in a counseling field and two years of social work or counseling experience; or a four-year degree in a human services field or related curriculum and three years of social work or counseling experience; or graduation from a four-year college or university and four years of experience in rehabilitation counseling, pastoral counseling or a related human service field providing experience in the techniques of casework, group work or community organization; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. One year of work experience can be credited for completion of the social work collaborative.

State mandated pre-service training as well as continuing education opportunities available. Special Certifications and Licenses N/A Person County conducts pre-employment screening on candidates.
