Job Description

The intake Social Worker II gathers all information needed and required during the intake interview process and according to program policy in order to screen new allegations of neglect, abuse, dependency or exploitation of children and adults.

Examples of Duties

  • Processes and completes all reports accurately, timely, and according to program policy
  • Establishes new electronic or paper files, completes financial eligibility, and keys all required information into state systems for establishment of a new case and/or updates of existing cases
  • Relays concerning information and safety concerns to a social work supervisor promptly and, at times, immediately
  • Attends staffing as scheduled, is prepared with required paperwork, participates and completes tasks assigned during staffing and according to policy
  • Prepares and maintains ongoing documentation of workload activities
  • Revolving on call coverage requiring 24 hour a day availability
  • Performs other duties as assigned, which may include shelter duty.

Typical Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited school of social work
  • Or, bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience
  • Or, bachelors from a four-year college or university and two years of experience
  • Or, an equivalent combination of training and experience;And, the successful candidate must possess and maintain a valid drivers license.

  • Criminal Records check, drug screen, references and transcripts will be required for the successful candidate; this position is subject to random drug testing
