RECRUITMENT RANGE

$55,823 – $73.000 This position is 100% federally funded. The Policy Unit Supervisor provides leadership to the state’s Policy Unit of the Subsidized Child Care Assistance Program. The supervisor directs unit staff on the programmatic and related administrative functions of this program while overseeing their day-to-day responsibilities related to the unit’s work tasks, outcomes, and goals. The position develops, writes, organizes, maintains, and issues program policy. The supervisor has a responsibility to collaborate with other units within the Subsidy Services Section, other sections within the Division, federal partners, and other state agencies. The Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) implements quality standards for child care and increases access to families and their children across North Carolina.

requires that the State protect children in child care facilities by ensuring that these facilities provide a physically safe and healthy environment where the developmental needs of the children are met and where these children are cared for by qualified persons of good moral character.

Considerable knowledge/experience of the Subsidized Child Care Assistance (SCCA) program policy. Experience leading a team to plan, organize, and execute assignments through the management of resources and evaluation of performance in program administration. Experience analyzing data, identifying trends, and drawing conclusions to inform policy decisions. Ability to accurately interpret and convert technical/industry-specific language into understandable terms for various audiences. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor s degree in child development, early childhood education, special education, social work, or related human services area from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in a child care or related setting involving the coordination, evaluation, or administration of a comprehensive program of child care services; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
