School Social Worker 2025-2026 SAU 36 White Mountains Reg School District Whitefield, NH 03598 PRIMARY

FUNCTIONS

Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, the primary role of the Clinical School Social Worker is to identify and assist students, families, and school systems to overcome barriers that interfere with learning through the use of assessment, counseling, and consultation, coordination of school and community resources, and program development. The Clinical School Social Worker functions as a mental health professional on the multi-disciplinary teams and responds to referrals from school administration, parents, teachers, Tier 2/3 teams, Special Education and others by providing direct services and by assisting families in accessing appropriate community resources. RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide direct counseling services on an individual, small-group, or family basis Serves on multidisciplinary team(s) to address needs of students with or without disabilities to assure implementation of appropriate services, programming and/or placement. Assists in the development of intervention strategies to meet individual social, emotional learning needs. Provides consultation to administrators and teachers on broad areas of mental health as well as specific student needs Participates in collaboration and/or supervision hours on a regular basis. The Clinical School Social Worker may provide clinical supervision to staff as needed. Keep abreast of best practices in school social work and mental/behavioral health practice as part of the continuing professional development process.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Possess a valid drivers license, as some in-district and in-state travel is required May require lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, squatting, driving, sitting for long periods of time, standing for long periods of time, climbing, walking, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching and crawling Perform any other related duties, as required
