Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education (ECE), relevant teaching experience, and coaching experience, and NJ P-3 highly preferred. Ideal candidate will possess a master’s degree in ECE or related field, NJ P-3, NJ Master Teacher (pre-school instructional coach) certification, a plus. Valid driver’s license and use of own vehicle for self-transportation to and from area worksites (mileage reimbursement available). Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Communicates clearly and effectively. Must demonstrate English proficiency – both oral and written Demonstrates good computer skills as relevant to the position requirements. Strong goal orientation Ability to physically care for the needs of the children in the classroom. This includes being able to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds. May work outdoors with children during part of the day, during each season.
Responsibilities include:
Learn and adhere to the philosophy and mandates of Head Start/Early Head Start as outlined in the Performance Standards, licensing requirements, and the Policies and Procedures of Greater Bergen Community Action (GBCA). Ensure children receive individual attention and supervise children by using your eyes and ears. Collaborate with Head Start Leadership to ensure that services are integrated into one comprehensive program. At the direction of the Director, Professional Development, assists with providing education/curriculum training as needed. Provide individualized coaching and guidance to assigned staff and assess the need for training. Analyze individual teachers and school-wide data to assess progress toward identified goals. Conduct regular observations of staff performance and provide written feedback. Demonstrate critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyze data and identify trends, pinpoint problems and root causes, and propose innovative solutions. Communicate with staff to share information, build skills, oversee performance, and resolve problems. Assist staff in designing and/or using a learning environment that supports the curriculum. Build strong rapport and support staff in their development of positive discipline skills to promote self-regulation and a positive self-image of each child. Provides monthly report to Director, Professional Development on progress toward assigning teaching staff goals and working with external partners. Reinforces adherence to policies and procedures and Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS). Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with management, clients, representatives of community organizations, and other staff members. Participates in ongoing professional development as directed. Responsible for the overall safety of each child in the
GBCA HS/EHS

Compensation will be based on credentials—salary range from $69,000 to $74,200 per annum.
