Job Description

Domestic Violence Liaison 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Hazlet, NJ 07730 • Hybrid work 180 Overview 180 Turning Lives Around, LLC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive services to individuals and families affected by domestic and sexual violence. Our mission is to empower survivors, promote safety, and create lasting social change through advocacy, education, and support services. Responsibilities Work collaboratively with Monmouth County’s two local CP&P offices and maintain a physical presence in each office two days per week. Assist with domestic violence safety planning for the non-offending parent and children; provide direct advocacy, community resources and referral information that may support and assist the family. Identify gaps in services and barriers that non-offending parents face; identify both risk and protective factors. Enhance coordination between CP&P and 180 programs to address the needs of the family. Ensure victims are offered safety planning and informed of 180’s programs and services, including confidential 24/7 hotline, supportive counseling, safe house, court advocacy, and children’s services. Provide ongoing case consultation and staff presentations to workers helping them to identify the unique needs of families experiencing domestic violence and offering appropriate interventions. Develop and facilitate four DV trainings per fiscal year to CP&P workers Organize and facilitate quarterly DVL collaborative meetings between CP&P office staff and 180 Turning Lives Around. Partner with workers on-site or on home visits when appropriate. Facilitate/participate in family team meetings that follow best practice guidelines and safeguards when domestic violence is present. Utilize a trauma-informed, client-centered approach when working with families while adhering to victim confidentiality statutes, professional ethics and boundaries. Attend weekly supervision at 180 to review cases, reflect on the work, seek assistance as needed, and discuss self-care. Attend in-services, trainings, and professional development when required. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience in domestic violence services or Master’s degree and 3 years’ experience in domestic violence services required. LSW or LAC preferred. DVS certification by NJ Board of Domestic Violence Professionals; or 25% of requirements for certification must be completed within 1 year of hire. Possess a working knowledge of the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence, coercive control, trafficking, and child abuse; able to provide interactions that are trauma-informed and culturally appropriate based in best practices. Strong communications, problem-solving, victim advocacy and collaborative skills required. Familiar with family court and other systems. Bilingual Spanish preferred. Driver’s license in good standing. Cleared criminal background check and CARI check with 180TLA and CP&P.
