Clinician – Bilingual (Spanish) Unaccompanied Minors Program Lutheran Social Services of New York – 3.0 Bronx, NY Job Details Full-time $75,000 a year 11 hours ago Qualifications Bilingual Microsoft Word Spanish Master of Social Work Microsoft Excel Social work Safety plans English Mid-level Sociology Microsoft Office Master’s degree Psychology SharePoint Social Work 2 years Communication skills Time management Full Job Description The Safe Haven for Children Program is a 24-hour shelter and transitional foster care program that serves unaccompanied children (UCs) in immigration custody who are awaiting release to their sponsors. The Clinician is responsible for the oversight and timely execution and documentation of all therapeutic requirements for the shelter or foster care program, as assigned.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complete the UC Assessment, Case Review, and other required program forms. Conduct Foster Home Visits to assess for the safety and well-being of UCs. Collaborate with the case manager and all relevant parties to complete required program documentation related to the UC’s overall functioning. Develop behavior plans and/or safety plans for UCs. Facilitate crisis intervention and utilize de-escalation techniques as needed. Create group curriculum based on the identified needs of incoming or current UCs. Provide weekly individual and group counseling to UCs. Provide mental health referrals as needed. Document service provision in client files in accordance with HIPAA and program regulations. Participate in weekly team meetings to provide mental health updates. Participate in “on call” rotation during the weekends and holidays. Accompany young persons as needed to Emergency Room for any Mental Health emergencies. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, as well as funder requirements. Ensure quality assurance and excellence in service provision. Become certified to facilitate trainings on Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) to all Safe Haven Employees Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited university Master’s degree in psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science which requires direct clinical experience. Licensed or license eligible
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years post-masters experience working with immigrant young persons
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong mental health background; proficient in mental health diagnoses. Knowledgeable about psychotropic medications, including medication risks and side effects. Excellent clinical skills. Able to work collaboratively with people from all walks of life. Strong interest in working with immigrant young persons. Excellent communication and presentation skills – able to facilitate trainings. Superior planning, organizational and time-management skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to develop and manage social work interns. Detail-oriented. Bilingual in Spanish and English. Experience and facility with Microsoft Office Applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Sharepoint and Teams.
