Job Description The Family Advocate serves as a link between families and the Head Start program. The Family Advocate carries out policies and procedures of the FCP functional area as well as GO policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
Employees must complete a Family Development Credential or certification in Social Work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field. At least 1 year experience working with people. Valid Driver’s license and personal transportation. Duties/Responsibilities Recruit children and assist with enrollment. Assist families in coping with problems using community resources. Assist families in getting medical and dental appraisals and referrals. Implement Family and Community partnership plan and maintain records.
Physical requirements:
Talking Hearing-ordinary conversation Lift up to 50 pounds Climbing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, pushing, and repetitive arm motion.
