When reunification is not possible, our program helps secure permanency through adoption. This program plays an essential role in our agency’s 150+ year mission of nurturing a healthier and more equitable Western New York.

Position Summary:

The Foster Care Case Aide performs a variety of tasks including transporting children to and from family visits or other appointments, supervising visits between parents and their children, performing recreational activities with children whose parents or foster parents are attending program trainings or events, and assisting program staff with paperwork and other administrative tasks. Foster Care and Adoption Case Aide:

Provide transportation for children for family visits and other appointments prioritizing the use of an agency vehicle whenever available Provide coaching and modeling during supervised visits between parents and children in our office or other approved locations Provide recreational activities and childcare for parents and foster parents attending program trainings or activities. Prepare progress notes other required data and timely submits documentation in case files and/or program database[s] Assist in responding to prospective foster parent inquiries and conduct initial assessments as needed Participate in foster parent recruitment events Participate in internal and external program meetings as appropriate including Service Plan Reviews (SPR) or other internal and external meetings as appropriate Communicate verbally and in writing with program and agency staff and key stakeholders including parents, foster parents, social services staff, medical professionals, etc. Assist in coordinating services for children and families Regularly monitor the visitation rooms to ensure cleanliness and suitability for family visits Maintain a neat and orderly system for storing and distributing donated items for families

Shift Information:

Requires the ability to accommodate a flexible schedule that includes traditional business hours and evenings to meet the needs of the children and families on caseload. Full time and part time positions available. Part time would be mostly afternoons and evenings. As a Case Aide, you can expect to spend approximately 75% of your time engaging children while transporting them to and from visits and 25% of your time in the office performing other tasks. This varies based on the needs of the children in the program but is intended to provide candidates with an idea of a day on the job

Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma required. Bachelor’s degree is preferred. One (1) year of experience working with children and/or families. Experience in child welfare case management or related experience is preferred. Valid New York State driver’s license and insurance required Must have reliable transportation for frequent travel throughout Western New York, primarily Erie County when agency vehicles are unavailable. Must be available to work a flexible schedule that includes regular evening hours for home visits and community events Ability to accept feedback, directives and respond to requests from multiple staff. Possess strong computer/technology skills, attention to details, and organization Possesses a calm, compassionate demeanor in person and on virtual platforms and telephone Demonstrated commitment to a team atmosphere and willingness to roll up their sleeves to assist others Model and practice sensitivity, fairness and acceptance of diversity in all interpersonal interactions. Participate in program Quality Improvement process. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry small children in and out of transport vehicles Must be able to drive in transport vehicles for extended periods of time Standing, walking, climbing and occasional lifting of 30 pounds Must be able to walk and move easily to physically supervise visits in the community Competitive Pay Rate of $20-$22 per hour based on education and experience CFS offers full-time employees the below benefits to support our employees and their families and help to create a healthy work environment.
