POSITION SUMMARY
Are you passionate about helping youth who are facing emotional or behavioral challenges? New Directions is hiring a Youth Peer Advocate in Erie County! You’ll provide one-on-one support and group services to youth navigating mental health needs, empower them to use their voice, and connect them with resources to help them thrive. If you have lived experience as a youth facing similar challenges and a desire to make a difference, we’d love to hear from you! This role offers flexibility and the chance to truly impact lives. Pay and Benefits 3 weeks of paid time off your first year, not including an additional 13 agency holidays. Access to life, dental and medical insurance. 401k with up to 3% agency matching. $17.33•$18.39/hr your first year. Flexible Monday•Friday schedule, with some day and evening availability required. Minimum Education and/or Professional Qualifications/Skills Applicant must be 18-30 years old with lived experience as a youth who has received services for emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. Experience may include involvement in foster care, juvenile justice, substance use recovery, or special education systems. A high school diploma, high school equivalency preferred, or a State Education Commencement Credential (e.g. SACC or CDOS). A driver’s license (required).
