Please visit our website for more about our school: Position Summary At Harlem Link, we seek social workers who are passionate about social emotional learning, committed to serving the Harlem community and deeply focused on caring for children. Social workers work in highly collaborative teams and have many opportunities for professional learning and growth to continuously expand their practices. Harlem Link social workers are responsible for developing developmentally appropriate social-emotional strategies with children to support lifelong skills and competencies. Our social workers use our foundational principles of Responsive Classroom practices, Emotionally Responsive practices, and Anti-Bias Anti Racist practices to support empowering learning communities. Social workers at Harlem Link are outcome-oriented, hard working, creative thinkers, receptive to feedback, solutions oriented, and put in the time necessary to ensure our students meet their academic benchmarks. Qualifications A master’s degree (or higher) in education in social work, counseling or mental health required LCSW or LMHC certification preferred Two or more years of elementary school experience or relevant classroom experiences preferred Key Responsibilities Design and facilitate social-emotional learning, conflict resolution support and counseling for students in small groups or 1:1 aligned with Harlem Link’s curriculum and philosophy, including our partnership with Child Mind Institute. Plan and implement differentiated interventions, including treatment plans, counseling and classroom assistance to support behavioral, social and/or emotional needs of students to support our diverse student learners, including students with special education services, students identified as multilingual learners, students receiving academic interventions, students who are accelerated and students with short-term crisis intervention. Assess, analyze and document student progress to develop interventions and extensions for student learning. Foster and promote Harlem Link’s values to ensure a positive, caring, responsive and safe learning environment. Serve as an advocate for students and families in need by leading attendance plans and interventions, facilitating family support groups, and partnering with external agencies that support the well-being and safety of students and families. Collaborate with the administration team, teachers, colleagues and key stakeholders within Harlem Link’s professional learning structures, such as but not limited to Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), coaching, and training to develop and share best practices and grow in order to meet outcomes for students. Strengthen partnerships with families through persistent communication, such as but not limited to phone calls, use of Parent Square messaging tool, special events and conferences. Compensation, Benefits and Hours The salary range for this position is $66,000 – $98,000 and is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Harlem Link is committed to providing our team with a range of benefit offerings at a competitive value. Benefits are provided in accordance with school policy. Social workers are required to be at the building from 8:15am – 3:45pm three days a week, and from 8:15am to 5:00pm two days a week for professional learning opportunities. There will be times when social workers are required to arrive earlier and/or stay later depending on specific student or family needs. Social workers also begin the school year in mid-August for a mandatory two-week Summer Institute training.
