Exempt Job Summary:
Responsible for evaluating client needs, providing direct clinical services and participating in interdisciplinary team meetings/staffing. Provides direct psychiatric social work services within the outpatient setting. Maintains appropriate documentation and prepare reports as required. Occasionally supervises subordinate staff and/or students.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide counseling for individuals, groups, or families. Participate in screenings or other intake assessment activities as assigned. Provide evaluations for Family Court or other agencies as assigned. Provide crisis counseling/evaluations when indicated. Provide services as an individual therapist, including assessment of treatment needs, treatment planning, and coordination of services. Provide clinical services in accordance with managed care regulations when indicated. Provide clinical supervision to subordinate staff or students when indicated. Provide consultation/education related to specialty area for other staff as indicated. Maintain accurate and timely documentation and prepare periodic reports as required. Establish and maintain effective relationships with division staff, other service providers, and the community at large. Coordinate clients’ plans of treatment with other service providers as needed. Refer for additional/specialized services when indicated. Comply with state and federal government rules and regulations regarding health, safety and equal opportunity. Perform other duties as assigned. Must attend scheduled supervision with approved supervisor which can be an LCSW, LCSW-R or BC- Psychiatrist to meet regulatory requirements. A minimum of 4 hours per month of supervision must be provided. Supervision will occur until 2000 supervised client contact hours are met over a 36-month period. The clinician must successfully pass the Clinical licensure exam (LCSW), before supervision is not required. Required Skills/Abilities (Unit Specific): Knowledge of current professional knowledge of therapeutic concepts and techniques. Knowledge of state and federal government rules and regulations regarding health, safety and equal opportunity. Ability to work under stressful situations with clients, families and other human services providers. Appointments may involve irregular work hours and may be provided at satellite locations.
Education and Experience:
Required Masters degree in Social Work with NYS license OR Permit Prefer one-year experience in a similar setting
Working Conditions:
Requires attendance of seminars, workshops, conferences when appropriate. Participates in in-service education and competency-based activities as indicated. Requires attendance of staff and team meetings. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15lbs at times.
Pay Range:
$60,213.00-$72,255.00/annual Employee salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
