Job Description
Category Schools – Social Worker Job Type Contract An opportunity is available for a dedicated School Social Worker to support K-12 students in Oneonta, NY, for a full semester contract. This role involves working closely with students, families, and educators to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges impacting academic success and personal well-being.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing individual and group counseling to students Conducting assessments to identify social, emotional, and behavioral needs Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention plans Connecting students and families with community resources and support services Facilitating crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed Maintaining accurate records and documentation of services provided Desired qualifications and experience: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program Current New York State social work licensure or eligibility for licensure Experience working with school-aged children in an educational setting Strong knowledge of child development, mental health, and community resources Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse populations Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
