Description:
Perry NY – Travel Required Family Development Specialist. Cattaraugus & Wyoming Counties Project Head Start. PT. 1st Shift. Benefits.
SCOPE:
1. Reports to Early Head Start Coordinator. 2. Responsible for implementing the Early Head Start program in compliance with all rules, regulations and performance standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. A minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework as part of an associates degree; and a minimum of a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or related field. 2. Demonstrated ability to work independently and use computers. 3. Must have valid drivers license and automobile available for work.
MAJOR DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for outreach and recruitment of families for Early Head Start. Implement comprehensive child development program while embracing the role of the parent as the primary educator of the child, and promote and support attachment between parent and child. 2. Responsible for implementing all Early Head Start program areas pursuant to agency wide plan for each child and family; provide weekly home visits of at least 1.5 hours for 12 children. 3. Maintain accurate records of services rendered including, but not limited to, weekly home visit plans and evaluations, volunteer records, social service reports, family needs assessments and development assessments. 4. Observe children in an ongoing manner, documenting those observations. Communicate any concerns immediately to the Director of Program Operations/Early Head Start Director for advice, counsel and any direction(s).
MISCELLANEOUS
1. This is a job that makes modest physical demands regularly; there is evening work, weekend work and occasional out area travel. 2. Must obtain and maintain certificate in First Aid and CPR. 3. Provide and participate in training. 4. Provide transportation for children and families for Early Head Start activities as may be needed. 5. Other duties as assigned. each child and family; provide weekly home visits of at least 1.5 hours for 10 children. 3.
