Job Description
This is a full-time position. Health insurance, sick/personal days, NYS TRS retirement system or NYS Employee Retirement System.
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and qualified School Psychologist, Counselor, or Social Worker to join our student support team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in promoting students’ social and emotional well-being, supporting their academic and behavioral success, and fostering a safe and inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school psychologist, and parents to develop intervention plans and strategies that support student needs.
Conduct risk assessments and crisis intervention when necessary.
Facilitate classroom presentations and workshops on mental health, coping skills, conflict resolution, and other related topics.
Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of services provided.
Act as a liaison with community mental health agencies and coordinate referrals for additional services.
Support the implementation of school-wide initiatives that promote positive mental health and social-emotional learning (SEL).
Qualifications:
State licensure or certification in Social Work, School Counseling, or School Psychology
Experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with trauma-informed practices
Familiarity with IEP/504 plans and special education services
Job Qualifications
NYS Certification preferred or license.
