Full Job Description Who We Are:

North Star’s mission is to restore women from trafficking: for freedom. for life. and forever. Motivated by the love of Jesus, we work to end trafficking and to empower survivors to reclaim the lives they were created to live through healing their whole person. In addition to other programs, North Star operates two residential programs in Lancaster and Berks counties and a separate social enterprise, Florissant Collective.

Summary:

The Case Coordinator assists the Senior Case Manager in coordinating case management for residents at The Refuge and/or The Harbor, as delegated by the Senior Case Manager. The Case Coordinator will support holistic development of each resident by scheduling appointments, providing transportation, coordinating meetings and calls, and other needs as delegated by the Senior Case Manager. The Case Coordinator will liaise with the Program Director to align calendars and when needed, provide support to the restoration specialists through on-site supervision of the residents. The Case Coordinator is expected to apply trauma-informed principles in every aspect of their work with the residents. The Case Coordinator reports to the Senior Case Manager. The Case Coordinator is a part-time (estimated 20-25 hours/week), hourly position, as defined by program needs. Availability for evening and weekend hours, as defined by program needs, is an essential requirement of this position.

Part-time, hourly The Case Coordinator must be: Willing to sign the North Star Initiative Statement of Faith (Code of Beliefs) Willing to sign the Kingdom Living policy A current and active member and/or regular attendee of a local church Able to fully support the North Star Initiative’s core values and ministry philosophy.

Essential Functions:

Create and maintain intentional connections and trust with the women served Support intake process with new residents and outboarding of current residents, including outside of regular hours, as needed Maintain individual resident files and documentation according to organization policies Support resident goals through coordination of job searches, medical care, legal services, budgeting, appointments, etc. Coordinate schedules with Program Director to minimize conflicts Track progress and complete outcomes surveys with each resident, such as Assessment of Survivor Outcomes (ASO), as directed by Senior Case Manager. Report results regularly to program team. Act as liaison between residents and established community resources Assist residents with education coordination, job search, interview skills, coordination of medical care, medication management, legal services coordination, budgeting, and other services as needed and coordinate appointments. Provide transportation as needed Ensure compliance with all mandated legal/regulatory requirements (e.g., occupational health & safety, medication management, standards of professional conduct, etc.) Coordinate medication management with Program Director as needed Attend meetings, trainings, and abide by NSI policies and procedures Work in coordination with the Program Director to be On Call as needed Collaborate with Program Director, Residence Manager, and other staff to provide on-site supervision and resident development when coverage is needed Other responsibilities as delegated by the

Chief Executive Officer Education and Experience:
Minimum:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other related fields Awareness of the impact of human trafficking and trauma Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Google products and database systems Minimum two years of experience working in social services

Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work Experience working with the impact of human trafficking and trauma Four years of experience working in social services

Required Qualities and Experience:

Purposeful and intentional relationship with Jesus Christ Understanding of sex trafficking, exploitation, addiction, and trauma-informed care Cultural competency, ability to communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds and cultures Flexibility in work schedule as determined by program needs Able to remain calm in stressful situations and be supportive of residents who may be experiencing precrisis or crisis situations. Able to work with women who have experienced severe trauma without judgment or unrealistic expectations. Able to work with sensitive information, using discretion for the safety and security of residents and staff. A “self-starter” and driven to follow up on assignments.
