What We’re Looking For:

A School Social Worker with a passion for working with students and parents.

The school social worker coordinates social work services in the district. The school social worker will serve as the link between students’ families and the school for topics relating to social services, including homelessness/McKinney Vento, serving as a liaison between the school and community based resources which includes inpatient hospitalizations and outpatient partial hospitalizations. The school social worker is the district’s truancy officer and fulfills the district’s legal obligations for truancy with the local magistrate and assists in navigating the SAIP process for students who are habitually truant. The social worker will collaborate with parents, guardians, teachers, administration, and other school officials to ensure students reach their academic and personal potential. Qualifications:

State Social Worker Licensure required
PDE certification as an Educational Specialist I or Educational Specialist II – School Social Worker PK-12
In addition to certification credentials, the school social worker should have tact, poise, an interest in children, a sense of responsibility, the ability to work with others, attention to detail and timely submission of required documents, and the ability to adapt to any reasonable pattern of behavior accepted by the community for professional persons.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to create a positive, inclusive, and adaptive student environment.

Bachelor’s +15: $63,064 (starting step)

Master’s Degree:

$65,237 (starting step)
Master’s + 15: $70,372 (starting step)
Master’s + 30: $72,578 (starting step)
Master’s + 45: $75,635 (starting step)
Master’s +60: $78,926 (starting step)

Doctorate:

$86,677 (starting step)
