General Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience and skills Experience in the field of domestic violence, counseling or related field Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations Knowledge of community resources Access to private transportation, valid driver’s license and auto insurance Computer proficiency

Position Specific Duties:

Reports to Bridge House/Shelter Manager Provide direct services: intake assessment, safety and goal planning, options counseling, women’s empowerment group for residents, referrals to community resources, advocacy/accompaniment according to PCADV and HAP guidelines Assist residents in identifying housing, financial, medical and educational needs Be responsible for the security, maintenance and cleanliness of the building Be responsible for purchasing food and supplies Assist clients with children’s domestic violence issues, forms of non-physical discipline, basic parenting skills and community resources for children Provide age appropriate children’s groups and recreational activities Manage the volunteer program

General Duties:

Provide crisis/options counseling, referrals, safety planning and shelter options Provide emergency shelter coverage as necessary Participate in conducting

hour volunteer training Responsible for completing 10 hours of additional training per year Maintain accurate client files and documentation in ETO database according to funding contracts in a timely manner Attend all staff meetings Maintain flexible working hours Rotational hotline (on-call) coverage required Responsible for receiving and storing donations Uphold SAFE policies, procedures, and confidentiality Assume additional responsibilities as assigned or required

Requirements:

Must be able to obtain a criminal background check, child abuse clearance and FBI clearance Must be able to provide references Must complete SAFE’s 40 hour Domestic Violence Counselor/Advocate Training required by
