Academy Park Principal Job Summary:
Develops, oversees and manages the implementation of the District’s positive school culture and climate program. Maintains a safe and positive learning environment for students.
Qualifications:

Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of promoting a positive school culture and climate, through responsive classroom and restorative practice/justice. Maintains a positive, safe, secure, and peaceful environment by working with students and staff to improve responsive classroom and restorative practice/justice. Coordinates student activities which promote positive school culture. Coordinates between the school administrations, support staff, faculty, and the outside contractor on issues pertaining to building culture. Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with teachers and administrators, and establishes positive relationships with parents and students. Provides supervision to the students in the lunch rooms and recess yards. Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university required 5+ years experience working in a school setting required Strong knowledge of restorative practices required Master’s Degree in Education or a related field of study desired 2+ years of experience working in School Climate desired PDE Certification desired.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge/awareness of own cultural identity and how this influences behavior, and desire to learn about the cultural identity of others. Ability to establish and nurture an environment that promotes cultural competence and equitable treatment of staff, students, and patrons of the District. Ability to recognize that each person is a unique individual even as we celebrate their group cultural heritage. Ability to courageously lead conversations focused on equity, closing opportunity gaps, and equal access to technology-infused lessons of rigor. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with District staff and administrators, students, parents or guardians, outside agencies, and the public, in a multi-ethnic, multicultural, multilingual environment. Ability to receive and implement feedback to improve practice and systems.
Physical Requirements:

Level of Compensation:
$52,283 – $104,397 (dependent on step and track placement as determined based on collective bargaining agreements). This is a 10-month position in the Southeast Delco Education Association contract group.
