Job Description
AmeriCorps Community Resource Navigator UWGLV AmeriCorps 1110 American Parkway, Allentown, PA 18109 This role provides an opportunity to be a change agent working toward closing the gap and removing barriers to thriving for communities and their families. Our program partners with community based non-profit organizations to identify underserved individuals who would benefit from a positive relationship that can give targeted social and emotional support as well as connection to resources. Members will learn about and build partnerships with community resources to assist the community at large. While serving, members receive a living allowance dispersed twice per month in addition to an education award at the end of successful service term. Service terms are 8-10 months in duration. (starting August 26, 2024) Hours per week vary from 10 – 34 based on host location need and availability of member. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required for some positions. Responsibilities Assess needs to identify what programs individuals are eligible for and help them through the application process. Identify individuals who could benefit from basic need supports (food, housing, medical, etc). Assist in household budgeting and increase in knowledge of financial stability resources. Develop initial success plans with the family/individual. Communicate with local stakeholders to improve warm hand offs and referrals between agencies. Serve as a link between individuals and other providers. Coordinate facilitation of trainings and bridge gap in access to services. Collect data, track individual and family outcomes. Attend trainings through UWGLV and host location. Requirements Able to report in person for work in Lehigh, Northampton or Carbon counties.
