Job Description
School Social Worker – Pawtucket, RI 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school-based social worker position is available in an elementary school setting in Pawtucket, RI, for the upcoming academic year. This contracted role focuses on providing critical social and emotional support to students and collaborating closely with educators and families to promote student well-being and success.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students social, emotional, and behavioral needs Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to address identified student challenges Provide counseling services and crisis intervention as needed within the school environment Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to create supportive strategies tailored to student needs Advocate for students welfare and connect families with appropriate community resources Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and school policies Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to student support plans
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Masters degree in Social Work (MSW) with state licensure or eligibility as a school social worker Experience working in school or child-focused settings, preferably at the elementary level Strong knowledge of child development, trauma-informed practices, and family systems Ability to build trust with students, families, and school staff Excellent communication, organization, and case management skills Capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
