MISSION:

JOB PURPOSE
Under limited supervision provides quality, timely, and targeted treatment services to clients located in Marion, Florence, and Horry Counties. Services include screening, assessment, case management, counseling/interventions. If currently licensed, must maintain licensure.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides treatment services as outlined in the individual treatment plan. Develops, coordinates, implements and monitors treatment plans for assigned juveniles; conducts initial interviews for assessment purposes; discusses treatment plans as needed; develops behavioral contracts with juveniles and monitor progress.
Conducts individual, group, and family counseling which involves complex interpersonal and social dimensions. Provides crisis management and intervention on an as needed basis. Provides counseling services for walk ins, court cases and over the phone. Provides case management. Obtains, coordinates and ensures continuity of services from other agencies, i.e., mental health, social services, alcohol and drug abuse, etc. Prepares related and required social work reports, i.e. monthly case summaries counseling reports, treatment team summaries, behavioral and/or incident reports, etc. Also attends and participates in pre-court staffing’s with ISO staff as well as probation officers. Works closely with county director to provide optimal services. Presents recommendations based on individual juvenile progress and performance. Completes clinical service notes for juveniles seen. Submits any reports and other needed documentation in timely fashion. Compiles and submits monthly statistics as scheduled. Attends training necessary to maintain licensure. Attends and participates in various meetings, training programs or seminars to provide optimum juvenile services, for information exchange and professional growth.
Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
STATE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A bachelor’s degree in social work from a program accredited by a nationally recognized accrediting body for social work programs, or from a social work program whose standards are at least equivalent to the minimum standards required by the nationally recognized accrediting body approved by the Board.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires thorough knowledge of social work principles/practices/techniques, personality principles, and group dynamics. Considerable knowledge of supervisory methods/techniques needed as well as the ability to integrate/coordinate specialized services with those of other disciplines. Must be able to stimulate trust and engage clients in problem solving. Must communicate effectively orally and in writing. Must apply social work principles/techniques in client services/treatment.
This position requires an exceptionally flexible individual who is capable of a large work output, high level frustration tolerance and the ability to utilize crisis intervention and realistic goal planning.
This position performs job duties relating to the custody, control, transportation, or recapture of youth within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice, and the employee may have direct and indirect contact with youth within the jurisdiction of the Department of Juvenile Justice. Training applicable to these duties will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
PREFERRED AGENCY REQUIREMENTS
A master’s degree in social work from an accredited program and professional experience in human services or social services program with one-year professional direct clinical experience. Licensed as an LMSW or LISW-CP by the SCBSWE.
