Qualifications:

South Carolina Secondary certification is required for the position Master’s Degree preferred Teaching experience in public education (minimum of 5 years) Excellent leadership skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable

Preferred Qualifications:

Thorough knowledge of District policies, programs, and activities related to school accountability and assessment. Knowledge of school testing programs. Strong knowledge of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, electronic file management, the internet, and reporting and presentation software. Knowledge of effective training and management methods.

Job Goal:

Supports school-level principal and District Coordinator of Testing & Accountability in reaching goals by designing and implementing a school site program of evaluation, accountability, and assessment structures related to the ongoing development of instructional and other student-related programs. Assists with the school’s data collection and analysis system by facilitating and supporting the maximum use of data in continuous improvement efforts of school teams. Responsible for the implementation of State and District testing programs at the school level. Develops and delivers relevant school-level professional development and assessment training(s).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Coordinates all school testing programs as the School Site Test Coordinator under the direction of the District Coordinator of Testing & Accountability Provides training to school employees to ensure accurate and compliant assessment administrations, efficient processing, and flow of testing materials distribution. Maintains accurate records of all staff development activities and training as required by the district and S.C. Department of Education. Supervises the state-required school assessment program to include assessment and evaluation, testing programs, the school-wide student database, and analysis of data for continuous improvement. Disseminates and interprets research and evaluation data to school-level personnel. Provides menu-driven reports on software from data in the school’s student database and databases linked to it for use by school teams and individuals. Assists the District Coordinator of Testing & Accountability and school teams with research design, data collection, and data analysis during action research efforts. Analyzes in collaboration with the District Coordinator of Testing & Accountability school data such as test scores, attendance records, discipline records, dropout records, and survey results to produce annual district and school profiles. Assists in the development of school accountability goals and benchmarks and reports the results. Trains school administration in the retrieval of data from the student database and databases linked to it. Provides support to school teams in the analysis, interpretation, and use of data, including State and Federal Accountability systems for continuous improvement. Designs conduct and reports results of surveys as required. Works with the principal and school administration in the development, implementation, and evaluation of school-based strategic planning. Provides leadership in the development of various types of assessment for all areas of the curriculum. Assists and supports the District Coordinator of Testing & Accountability with the planning and implementation of district staff training as related to accountability measures and data-driven decision-making. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Working Conditions:

Office environment with little exposure to environmental conditions. Physical demands are restricted to general office activities requiring the movement/lifting of items weighing up to twenty-five pounds. Routine local travel may be required. Requires the ability to work under a degree of stress related to duties that require considerable attention, deadlines, and adherence to state regulations.
