The After-School Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the After-School program, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children under their care. Additionally, this role is responsible for administrative tasks relating to the kids as well as After-School Staff. An ideal candidate for the After-School Coordinator would be a leader with extensive childcare experience, possessing a heart for the families we serve as well as an energy to grow the program and aid staff development. The candidate for this role must possess adequate administrative, leadership, and child development experience to contribute on a large scale to the overall success of our After-School program.

This is a full time, perennial role; in the summer time, the After-School Coordinator will shift into leading our Summer Camps. The general tasks for After-School also apply to the Camp context. Could potentially evolve into including work related to our Birthday Party program!

Responsibilities:

Serve as the example for all things After-School Boost through constant and intentional interaction with our kids (through play, activities, and games), as well as attentive supervision to safety and behavior. This example carries over to your leadership of our After-School staff as well, as your role includes working with and leading a multiple-person team of employees. Create and maintain rosters for all children enrolled in the program, documenting important information such as age, birthday, parent’s phone number, allergies, classes, and days of attendance. Manage and lead After-School team to ensure daily operations are met in satisfactory fashion while providing administrative support (scheduling, timesheets, etc.) for After-School staff. Develop planning timelines and programming for ASB and Camps, planning ahead for programming deadlines, themes, vehicle maintenance, and promotional needs. Communicate regularly with families via email to provide program updates, reminders, and important information. Manage the maintenance and upkeep of program vans including organizing van routes to and from schools, scheduling maintenance, and ensuring cleanliness. Purchase new equipment for the Fieldhouse and Classroom as needed, maintaining an inventory of supplies, and ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children. Manage inventory and coordinate to procure snacks for the week, ensuring that all dietary restrictions and preferences are taken into consideration. Enforce safety protocol and maintain a safe environment at all times for all concerned. Immediately report injury and/or suspicious incidents; complete and submit incident report to monitor child behavior Attend and participate in staff meetings and training clinics. Complete required courses and maintain current certifications required and relevant to job.

Qualifications:

Strong organizational and leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, especially relating to working with kids. Ability to plan and execute operational tasks efficiently. Intentionality and care in working collaboratively with other staff. Proficiency in using digital tools and calendars for scheduling and managing payroll. Prior experience in operational roles, preferably in an educational or recreational setting. Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to gymnastics training is a plus. Ability to work and communicate effectively with children and coworkers, fostering a positive and supportive environment. Excellent written communication with parents and coworkers. Complete program specific certifications (Required).

Pay Range:

The pay range for this position is $20 to $22 an hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
