Nashville WIC participants receive vital child health and development education, breastfeeding support, and healthy food benefits from compassionate and culturally competent staff. Davidson County WIC is seeking a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor to join the team and help promote breastfeeding among pregnant and post-partum women.
Schedule Note:
+ This position will work 32 hours per week. + Onsite and in the community as directed. Typical Duties + Provide group or individual breastfeeding counseling to prenatal and breastfeeding mothers. + Identify and implement appropriate intervention for breastfeeding women. + Coordinate participant care with WIC nutrition staff. + Provide appropriate referrals. + Maintain breastfeeding contact logs. + Assist WIC staff in breastfeeding promotion. + Maintain breastfeeding pumps and supplies inventory. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Must have Personal Lactation experience. (Personal lactation is federally required as a minimum of 1 baby breastfed for at least 6 months). Full-time, Civil Service positions
