Job Summary The Director of Social Work and Student Well-being leads and supports a district-wide network of school social workers to ensure students and families have equitable access to high-quality support services. This role oversees the hiring, training, coaching and evaluation of school social workers; establishes best practices for service delivery; and develops ongoing professional learning opportunities. The Director also provides strategic leadership in the design, implementation, oversight and/ or supervision of other district-wide staff or initiatives related to student wellness, mental health, crisis response, case management and wraparound services. Collaboration with school leaders, community partners, and internal stakeholders is essential to ensure aligned, effective, and equity-focused support systems. What you will do Develops and facilitates strategies that support staff interactions with cluster support teams, school personnel, and community stakeholders. Supervises department operations and leads efforts to improve service delivery across the team. Responsible for staff performance evaluations. Oversees hiring and training of department personnel. Receives training and certification by the State Department of Education in the TEAM (Tennessee Educator Acceleration Model) evaluation process. Supports the implementation of district-wide initiatives and department-led support services. Serves as a representative of MNPS and the Department of Support Services in building collaborative relationships with district and school administrators, staff, and community stakeholders. Plans, develops, coordinates, and participates in professional development opportunities aligned with the needs of the district, Support Services Department, clusters, and schools. Manages the departmental budget and ensures timely submission of reports and updates. Provides training, implementation, and consultation for the district as requested. Leads strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts with the department to align with distict initiaties and Student Support Services priorities. Monitors and analyzes data and trends related to student well-being, attendance, discipline, and intervention outcomes. Advocates for policies, services, and resources that advance equitable access to social-emotional and mental wellness supports for all students. Education Qualifications Master’s Degree in Social Work Required Experience Qualifications 5 years of experience working in the social work field, with two or more of those years in school social work or school-based mental health Required Social work administration experience is preferred; however, candidates may also qualify with evidence of strong leadership skills demonstrated through previous roles, responsibilities, or initiatives. $123,617.87 Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
