Overview:

The following statements reflect the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the work requirements, which may be inherent in the position. Responsible for the performance of a variety of tasks and services to individual, their families and significant others; in meeting the social and personal impact of illness, hospitalization and discharge from the hospital. To contribute to the understanding of social and emotional problems as they relate to individual medical conditions. To promote healthy functioning, physical and psychosocial well-being to our customers. To provide assistance to other staff with tasks related to overall operation of the Case Management Department and the Medical Center.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work. Current license by the State of Alabama or eligible for licensure. Experience in healthcare setting or in a social agency. Knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span, ability to assess clinical data relative to patient age and interpret information needed to identify patient needs relative to age. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to use standard office equipment and supplies. Capable of job training and teaching Medical Center and Department policies and procedures.
