Clinical Social Worker 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Bryson City, NC 28713 Swain County Schools, through the funding of a two-year grant from Great Smokies Health Foundation, is seeking a clinical social worker for the Youth at Heart Project starting in August 2025. Clinical Social Worker East & West Elementary Exempt 10-month Position Starting in August 2025

Reports To :
Mental Health Liaison Purpose :

This position will provide mental health services for Swain County Schools students. The goal of this position is to advance school based mental health awareness, quality prevention, intervention, evaluation and support.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Provide mental health clinical based support services for students at East and West elementary schools. Investigate and administer the use of universal screener to students. Analyze assessment data to identify at risk students, implement evidence-based interventions and monitor effectiveness. Maintain data collection for efficacy and effectiveness of services. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address social-emotional needs for students including the identification and delivery of a range of evidence based prevention to intense interventions. Provide consultation and participate on MTSS team Participate in school team meetings to develop relationships and awareness around trauma, emotional, social and behavioral needs. Conduct ongoing school need and readiness assessments related to social and emotional learning. Assist with Crisis Intervention assessments Assist in identifying programming and services related to the mental health and well-being of all students. Collaborate with public and private agencies to offer access to mental health services and programs on the school campus for students and their families Provide mental health education and prevention information to staff, students, families and school community. Assist in the development and monitoring of the school mental health plan. Enhancing the school climate and broadly by promoting mental health wellness, early identification of needs. Assist in the development of Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans Duties and responsibilities are intended to be examples and are not intended to be all-inclusive. Skills and Knowledge :

Knowledge of public education in NC, school mental health, implementation science, and interconnected systems frameworks Knowledge of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Individual, Group, Family modalities and Mindfulness. Knowledge of NC Medicaid billing opportunities Strong skills in building and maintaining appropriate relationships with all affected stakeholders High-level oral and written communication skills Prioritization and risk management skills

Travel and Other Special Conditions :

Quarterly travel to Project Coordinator meetings are possible, resulting in three to four in-state overnight stays per year and out-of-state travel to one or two relevant conferences per year, as needed.

Qualifications :

Required Master’s degree (MA, MSW); clinical license. e.g. LPC, LCSW or PsyD in clinical work preferred; minimum of 3 years of experience in related areas of public health or mental health, preferred.

Exempt 10-month Position This is a grant funded position and employment is conditional upon receiving the grant funds each year.

Salary in accordance with the NC State Salary Schedules for Social Workers
