Counseling and Psychological Services Description To provide initial and ongoing psychiatric and counseling assessments to patients living with HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) Infection). To provide clinical assessment, treatment planning and patient/family counseling and education according to government and department standards. Counselor for UAB Montgomery Street Psychiatry Program. Work with Psychiatrist to counsel and treat local homeless population. Key Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts psychotherapy and counseling sessions with clinic patients including group, individual and family sessions.
Maintains knowledge of current professional trends and developments.
Interviews patients, families and significant others to obtain personal history relative to diagnosis and treatment.
Provides psychosocial clinical assessment.
Completes patient documentation according to government and department standards.
Facilitates and reviews individualized treatment plans according to standards.
Provides case management/casework functions.
Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range:
$45,395 – $65,000 LOCATED
ONSITE IN MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA.
Qualifications Master’s degree in Counseling, Mental Health, Social Work or related Human Services field required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Must be able to obtain the Alcohol & Drug Counselor License within thirty (30) months of hire
