JOB SUMMARY
Provides a range of psychological screening andassessments, diagnostic and therapeutic services for individuals,couples, groups and/or families in the outpatient clinic setting.
Responsibilities include assessment, treatment planning, on-goingindividual and/or group therapy, related documentation andcommunity referrals as indicated.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOBFUNCTIONS
Provide behavioral/mental health screenings, initialassessments and treatment plans for patients referred from otherRHC clinicians, and the community at large. Provides clinicaltherapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults and families,including individual, couple and family therapy, in person as wellas via telemedicine visits. Maintain accurate and timely progressnotes and other documentation required for the patient electronicmedical record (EMR). Provides both routine consultation andemergency psychological first aid and assistance in the outpatientclinics when crisis situations arise. Assumes responsibility forremaining current in job-related knowledge and skills andcontinuing education and licensure requirements. Maintains acurrent state license. Participate in quality initiatives andutilization review activities as requested. Coordinate andcollaborate with the primary care providers to improve healthoutcomes. Facilitate referrals to other services (e.g., substanceabuse treatment, specialty care, and community resources) asneeded. Provides training to other clinicians, as needed, onpsychological and emotional symptom identification, initialscreenings and referrals to behavioral health services.

Exceptional interpersonal andcommunication skills Excellent interviewing and assessment skillsStrong ability to translate assessment information into a treatmentplan Demonstrated success in working with a culturally diversepatient population and community Demonstrated ability in managingstress and crisis situations Knowledge of local, state, and federalcommunity resources available to patients Ability to workindependently Ability to maintain a high level of confidentialityExperience working in an electronic health record or willingnessand ability to learn Basic computer skills including experiencewith Word, Excel and/or Google products and ability to touch typeon a keyboard.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Master’sdegree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and FamilyCounseling or other behavioral health related field. LicensedProfessional Counselor (LPC) (Licensed in Texas) OR LicensedClinical Social Worker (LCSW) (Licensed in Texas)One year ofexperience providing short-term, evidence-based counseling in aclinic, hospital, community agency or private practice, preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Able to communicate effectively in English, bothverbally and in writing. Bilingual – Spanish preferred (oral ≀itten)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
