In-Home Mental Health CounselorPosition Overview We are seeking an independent contractor to provide in-home mental health services to adults, children, and families. The role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions. Contractors are responsible for maintaining thorough documentation of diagnoses, treatment plans, and services provided.

Families referred to this program are typically involved with the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) due to allegations of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. The program is designed to support families at risk of out-of-home placement or assist in reunification efforts.

Contractors work independently to deliver services in client homes within their assigned counties. While certain expectations for client outcomes and documentation timelines are in place, contractors maintain full autonomy over their daily work schedules and methodologies, provided they meet the program’s overall goals. Scope of Services Conduct mental health/biopsychosocial assessments and document findings. Develop and review evidence-based treatment plans with measurable goals. Provide in-home clinical and supportive services, approximately one hour per week per client. Implement interventions for clients, documenting services and client responses. Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable privacy laws, including HIPAA. Communicate with referral sources and provide monthly updates as needed. Qualifications Master’s degree in psychology, social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field. Access to reliable transportation and a working phone. Competence with Microsoft Word and Excel or equivalent tools. Prior experience with children and families in related fields is preferred but not required. Terms Contractors are responsible for their own transportation, scheduling, and tools needed to perform services. Compensation is provided on a per-service basis. This is a 1099 position; no benefits or employment taxes will be provided or withheld.

Pay Range:

$40-$55/hour , based on a percentage of reimbursed service fees. Contractors are paid per completed session with rates depending on service type. Flexible schedule and autonomy provided.
