Fellowship House is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate bachelor’s level professional to join our multidisciplinary team as a Competency Restoration Trainer . This position involves directly assisting our members in our Broward Forensic Program with the process of competency restoration, helping them understand the legal system, court processes, and their rights.
Responsibilities:
Provide competency restoration training to clients both in and out of jail, using a variety of educational tools and techniques tailored to each client’s needs. Conduct initial assessments, review professional evaluations, and administer posttests to track client progress and readiness to return to court. Work closely with clinicians, psychologists, court personnel, jail staff, family members, and community service providers to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to each client’s restoration process. Maintain detailed and timely progress notes in our electronic health record system and ensure all documentation is up to date. Connect clients with additional support services as needed to promote their well-being and competency restoration.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in the Human Services field (Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Health Education, etc.) ( REQUIRED ) Experience working in mental health, social services, or the criminal justice system (preferred). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with documentation and electronic health record systems is a plus. •Fellowship House is a
