Job Description

Substance Use Group Facilitator/ Counselor Helping Hands Recovery Center 4101 North Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Group Facilitator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to women with substance use disorders in IOP treatment. This position requires a strong understanding of addiction counseling, patient assessment, and behavior management to effectively lead group sessions aimed at fostering recovery and personal growth. Pay is based on experience.

Evening hours:

Our groups are from 6-9pm. Looking for a group facilitator for Monday & Tuesday evenings. Open to providing internship hours. Duties Facilitate group sessions focused on addiction recovery, mental health support, and behavior management. Conduct patient assessments to identify individual needs and tailor group activities accordingly. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to encourage participation and engagement among group members. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality of all patient information. Provide support for individuals dealing with PTSD and other mental health challenges. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans for participants. Monitor group dynamics and address any conflicts or issues that arise during sessions. Document participant progress and provide feedback to the treatment team as necessary. Experience Previous experience in substance use treatment preferred. Background in addiction counseling or mental health counseling is highly desirable. Familiarity with patient assessment techniques and behavior management strategies. Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse populations. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining confidentiality in all interactions. Experience working with women experiencing PTSD or other mental health conditions is a plus.
